Good morning Panther Nation!
We have all had déjà vu at some point in our lives. Yesterday I was again blessed with the opportunity to visit Mrs. Eaton. I went to school early and took care of some school business, laid out some plans with Paul Panning and did a walk-through of the building. I then took off to Omaha to learn more about being a Doctor when Mrs. Eaton gets to come home. On the way I had to stop and get a Hepatitis B Vaccine. Apparently I am in the generation that did not get them as a kid because they didn’t exist yet. Turns out that there are several things that my generation missed out on. I really don’t care and it doesn’t matter. If you concern yourself with the things that you feel you got shafted on, you will be a miserable person. We should all agree that miserable is an undesirable characteristic! Anywho…….. I received my shot and asked nurse Krusty, “I am going to go see my wife do I need a bandaid to cover the vaccine site since she is in a sterile environment?” She searched for a bandage, I asked for a “cool bandaid” it took a few minutes and she came up with a spider man. How sweet is that? Here is where déjà vu comes in. This happened when I got my measles vaccine when I was five, six, eight, ten… somewhere in there and I think it was measles. I remember getting a shot and crying like a little baby and the nurse gave me a spiderman bandage, boy did that make me feel better! Déjà vu! For the record I didn’t cry this time, well not much.
I hope that our students, parents/guardians, teachers, staff, school board members and community folks never feel déjà vu in the future over this COVID junk.
Stay healthy!
